When Treatwell is the better choice
- You are new in town and need the marketplace to bring your first customers — a 35% share of a first booking can be a fair price for that.
- Most of your bookings already arrive through Treatwell and your customers expect to book there.
- You want online self-booking with prepayment today — Clienteka does not offer online booking yet.
When Clienteka is the better choice
- Your customers come back on their own, so paying a third of each first booking buys you little.
- You want SMS reminders — Treatwell Connect sends e-mail reminders only, Clienteka includes SMS credits in Pro.
- You want invoices, a client card with notes and photos, and a team schedule in one private tool for a flat price.
Clienteka alongside Treatwell, not instead of it
Clienteka is complete on its own, but it is not a booking channel — you take bookings by phone, in messages or through a marketplace. If Treatwell brings you new customers, you can keep it: Treatwell finds the customer, Clienteka keeps their card, history, SMS reminders and invoices. There is no automatic sync between the two, so an appointment booked on Treatwell is entered into Clienteka by hand — quick for a few new customers a month, tedious if the marketplace fills most of your calendar.
How to move your clients
Ask Treatwell Connect for an export of your customer data (names, phone numbers, e-mails), or export from whatever spreadsheet you keep. In Clienteka go to Clients → Import CSV, match the columns and import; duplicates are recognised by phone number or e-mail and problem rows are reported instead of blocking the rest. File import is part of the Pro plan.

Does Clienteka charge a commission on new customers like Treatwell?
No. Clienteka has no marketplace, so it never brings customers and never charges for them. You pay a flat subscription — Pro €19/month net plus €7 per additional team member — or use the Free plan. Treatwell Connect charges 35% of the first booking of each new marketplace customer in Germany.
Does Clienteka send SMS reminders?
Yes. Pro includes 100 SMS credits a month and you can buy more. A reminder to a German mobile costs 3 credits per message part, so the included credits cover roughly 15–30 reminders a month depending on length; reminders go out in the language of your business country, for example German for a salon in Germany. Treatwell Connect sends e-mail reminders only, according to its German price page.
Can I keep Treatwell and use Clienteka at the same time?
Yes. Treatwell finds and books the customer; Clienteka keeps the customer card, history, SMS reminders and invoices. There is no automatic sync, so appointments booked on Treatwell are entered into Clienteka by hand — fine for a handful of new customers a month, tedious if the marketplace fills most of your calendar.
Are Clienteka invoices suitable for a business in Germany?
Clienteka issues invoices with immutable, unique numbers and corrects mistakes with credit notes instead of editing, VAT settings are per country and per service, and uploaded photos and files are stored on AWS in Frankfurt. Whether that covers every requirement of your tax adviser is a question worth asking them with a sample invoice in hand.
